My name is Celeste Conti. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and a Master of Education in Administration from Providence College, Providence, RI. I have had the pleasure of working in the Woonsocket School District for twelve years as a Fourth Grade Teacher and a Second Grade Teacher before becoming the Principal of Governor Aram J. Pothier. I am a dedicated, enthusiastic professional.
I have experience in creating and nurturing a school culture that values collegiality among students, faculty and the community; developing program initiatives; designing and implementing teacher schedules that support common planning time; advocating for student services; serving as a Building Evaluator; attaining Bright Star Certification, and supporting over 70 faculty members on a daily basis.
I strongly believe I have the vision and the ability to promote and foster a school culture that is embedded with the core belief that all children, regardless of their socio-economic status, can achieve maximum success through personalization. Over the years, the students at Governor Pothier Elementary have excelled through the use of PBIS techniques that I have implemented. I am uncompromising in the belief that all students need to be held accountable for their own behavior and learning. This philosophy encourages students to believe in themselves, which, in turn, inspires them to become socially responsible and to strive for academic success.
